“Missing CCH Add-ins” is a job aid created to help end users quickly resolve a common issue with CCH ProSystem fx add-ins in Microsoft Office, reducing unnecessary support tickets. Designed as a single-page printable guide, it features a clean layout with clear steps, visual flow aids, and bolded key information for rapid troubleshooting. By empowering users to re-enable disabled add-ins themselves, this guide enhances productivity and minimizes downtime. The goal is to alleviate the burden on IT support teams while ensuring users can seamlessly continue their work with minimal disruption.

Research and Design Development
I met with a subject matter expert to discuss both the purpose of this project and the technical content needed for the job aid. To ensure content accuracy, I referenced several existing user guides while focusing on simplifying the information for non-technical users. My primary goal was to create a resource that allows end users to quickly resolve the issue without requiring IT support.

Job Aid Creation
I created the document using Microsoft Word, focusing on clarity and ease of use. I structured the content with clear headings, step-by-step instructions, and formatting elements like bold text and bullet points to highlight key actions and information. The design ensures users can quickly find solutions without requiring technical expertise or additional support. The document also provides guidance on when and how to contact support if the issue persists, helping users escalate problems efficiently.

Project Challenges
One challenge I faced with this project was gaining a sufficient understanding of the technical details to create an effective guide, despite not using the software myself. It required careful analysis of expert input and external resources to ensure accuracy.
It was also important that the document communicated technical information in a simple, user-friendly format. I focused on breaking down the steps clearly, minimizing jargon, and designing the guide to be intuitive for users who rely on the software but may not have a technical background.
